American Legion Auxiliary Mission
In the spirit of Service, Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families both at home and abroad.

For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth,and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.

Our Taylors Post 214 chapter participates in the Palmetto Girls' State program, Poppy project and High School Oratorical Scholarship Program as well as supports the chapter at various events and fund raisers throughout the year.

Eligibility Requirements for American Legion Auxiliary Membership

Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary shall be limited to the grandmothers, mothers, sisters, wives, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion, and to the grandmothers, mothers, sisters, wives, and direct and adopted female descendants of all men and women who were in the Armed Forces of the United States during any of the following periods and died in the line of duty during such service, or who, having received an Honorable Discharge, died after service:

A woman who is eligible for American Legion membership is eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary regardless of whether or not she is a member of The American Legion.  However, eligibility of her female relatives (sister, mother, direct decedents) depends upon her membership in The American Legion.

  • Gulf War/War on Terrorism August 2, 1990 to date of cessation 

  • Panama December 20, 1989 - anuary 31, 1990

  • Lebanon and Grenada August 24, 1982 - July 31, 1984 

  • Vietnam War February 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975 

  • Korean War June 25, 1950 - January 31, 1955 

  • WW II December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946 

  • WW I April 6, 1917 - November 11,1918 

2) The state in which you reside will be the state in which your membership is processed. Each state, referred to as "department' in the American Legion Auxiliary, has a different annual dues amount. Dues payments are non-refundable.
